“And God said let there be light, and there was light.” Genesis 1:3
Lord, speak light into the world again.
Let the forceful breath of truth
resound like an echo into our ears.
The murk of death is strangling us
like phlegm in a drowning man’s throat.
We cannot see through the miasma
of sycophantic lies. But here,
on a new day, as spring revives the earth
and blossoms are illuminated by the sun,
remind us that the existence of You
ensures the existence of us, of me, of all.
