A bright, arresting light
shone from the Christmas star;
one star so bright that wise
men saw it from afar,
And shepherds in their fields
also saw it shining,
accompanied by lyrics
a heavenly choir singing.
One light was born that night,
that Christmas long ago,
one light that fills our hearts
and makes our spirits glow.
But that one light was not
content to stay as one;
he came to multiply,
with light as bright as sun.
A million little lights
a billion, trillion soar
in human realms and shine
through us forevermore.
